I am very proud to announce that JCR Eurasia Rating has assigned a credit rating of (AA-(Trk)) along with a ‘positive’ outlook to Creditwest Bank on the long term national scale, which denotes the “very high investment grade” criterion.

Not familiar with JCR, have only ever heard of Moody's, S&P, etc. However, full list of their ratings are available here if you are interested: http://www.jcravrasyarating.com/sayfalar/goster_en.php JCR give highest rating of AAA to: TC Ziraat & Garanti.

You can easily waste half a day in any bank in Cyprus regardless of credit rating, including HSBC, Turkiye Is & Turkish Bank. I'm not sure whether it's down to inefficient processes, incompetence or bureaucracy.

We are the first local bank in North Cyprus to obtain such a rating, which for us is an indication of how we fair internationally, aside from the state of the bank JCR (one of the largest rating companies) also takes into account the political situation which of course means the isolation and restrictions we are faced with, Banks from Turkey do not have the handicaps we have due to the Cyprus problem. For a local bank to be judged so highly shows our commitment to high standards and continually striving to provide better services for our customers in a warm and financially sound atmosphere.

Theres no minimum amount as far as i know, but they do suggest that you open two accounts in Sterling or in TL one current A/C and one timed deposit A/C so that you can pay money in from the UK for example, you cant pay in to a timed deposit but can into a current one and then transfer the funds on the aniversary date to the timed one if that all makes sense LOL A

Msg 10; It is HIGHLY commendable that Creditwest has gone through the procedure of getting rated by an agency. I am not aware of any other local banks in TRNC to have taken this step. 10/10 from me.

Any chance of giving some advise to Turk Bank as I waited over 45 mins to get served, as only one member of staff at the desk working, with the other six staff sitting around behind it trying to look busy.
