On a different thread there was a quote that Turkey does not need the EU. Will this become even more relevant in 2012 when Turkey's right to explore for minerals is reinstated. I have been told by a local friend that they probably have more oil than Saudi! Can anyone throw any light on an agreement reached many years ago about them not searching for minerals?
