Has the carbon footprint generated from the hundreds of political delegates and thousands of demonstrators been calculated? Could the politicians have had a week at home on the skype chatting and discussing environmental issues with their colleagues? Is fax still alive? Will the world a better place post summit?

Good point, how can we take these scientists seriously when they personally indulge in these away from home conference perks despite there being many technological alternatives. "What they do speaks so loud, I can't hear what they say."

What I think is really telling is that for the carbon footprint of each US citizen you can have up to forty citizens of any developing or third world country.

So blaming China as the worlds biggest polluter is ignoring the way the peoples of wealthy nations live.

As long as their standard of living is not threatened they are quite happy for other countries development to be reigned in.

Well that's just not fair.

The carbon footprint for this massive piss up has according to experts been calculated as being the same as that of a small African Country the size of Malawai.

There are an amazing 34,000 guests at this party with many of them being forced to park their private jets in Norway because there is no room in Denmark.

I think the whole party is one big huge con, just who do they think they are kidding??

message 5 aylin.

Spot on,

To show how daft we must look to the developing world ,just stand and watch people who drop stuff off at paper and bottle banks, watch what they drive. Some housewife gets into her 4.4litre Landrover to undertake the dangerous journey across sub saharan Milton Keynes and drops some newspapers off,and congratulates herself for doing her bit for the environment.Would be better if she just binned the stuff and left her tractor in the drive.

If thats the best we can do then just forget it and have a good time for as long as we have left. Seeing our behaviour, I think disaster is inevitable. We should be concentrating on finding ways of living under those conditions by preparing for people migrating from Medi areas North to escape the heat, arranging for agriculture to move to untapped areas away from sea and rivers, developing anti radiation creams, finding cheap ways to make water.
