We've flown over Belfast - Ercan, Larnaca, Paphos and did a Manchester to Paphos. (just depends on the best deal we can get as we're still restricted to school hols with our 15 year old son). Unfortunately they stopped the Belfast to Ercan this year so we're flying to Larnaca. We love TRNC it's a lot less commercialised than the south and the people are just lovely. The food is excellent and cheap in most restaurants. The Effes Fici beer is fab.

Thanks whitemad, it sounds really lovely, I can wait to finally go out and see it, shame about the Belfast flight, would've saved alot of hassle? How long have you had your place? Is there many other people from NI out there who have bought?

We've had our place for a year now - however work is still ongoing! Usual electricity connection (on builders electricity) etc but you learn to be patient! We know of about six other families who have bought and have heard of others. Hopefully Belfast to Ercan will come back next year I certainly did a lot of complaining about it! The drive from Larnaca is easy enough though, even from Paphos it was straightforward.

we are just up the road from you near Ross Park Hotel. Small world eh?? Hubby works in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast and I work in carrickfergus quarry supply company Just waiting on the completion date for our apartment on Turtle Bay Village site. Yes I agree the flight to Ercan from Belfast would save a lot of problems as we have 2 kids a aged 5 and 2 so we are flying from Belfast to Stansted then to Ercan so God only knows what thats going to be like. Went last year to Larnaca but didn't like the border crossing Turkish side no problem Greek side bloody nighmare went through everything in car!!! Thank God we had no paperwork with us re property in TRNC. Our border crossing were never as bad!!!

Definitely small world! We haven't had any probs at border - yet! We know not to take any docs! We flew via Manchester at Halloween (via Paphos at Easter) - no problem just took a bit longer. Think of it as part of your hol - shopping in airport is compensation! Turtle Bay Village is looking good - not too far from us.

Why not try flying from Dublin into Larnaca using one of the travel agents on a flight only basis. You can also get some good value on late deals especially with Budget Travel. Bought in Sea terra Marina ourselves living just outside Dublin
