A friend of mine is having a problem with his internet access.

He cant access his internet provider from home, when he goes to the providers office it connects no problem, but not from home.

When he takes it to another friend house he can connect to their internet provider (DifferentISP) again no problem

Any ideas please?

Hummm... Different things could happen:

1- There is no good coverage in his area (if it's Wi-Fi)

2- He may need to install the modem's drivers

3- If the modem used is integrated on the computer (not given by the company), it's maybe broken.

My two cents. I hope it helps...

As he appears to have no problems connecting to the internet via other peoples systems, that suggests that bthere are no problems with his computer. I would guess that either his WIFI dish needs realigning, or his modem is broken. He should get his provider to come out and check both.
