This may be an obvious question but I would be very greatful if anyone could clarify. I have some documents that I need to post from the UK to Northern Cyprus. Ive called the Post Office and they say they do an Air Mail Signed For Service. However when I asked if this was definately for Northen Cyprus they were unable to confirm. Has anyone experience of sending documents?

Many thanks

I used DHL aswell, my first attempt at using normal post, was that after 3 months my documents were returned to me, opened and in a plastic bag!!!

I've used DHL. Expensive but worth it. Items took 8 days to get there but importantly they did get there undamaged.

Returning documents to England as we didn't want to drive with them through the border we went to the sub post office in Alancak and took a risk. Paid about £2 to get them sent over registered. They arrived in England about 8-9 days later. All in one piece, sealed and waiting for a signature.

Speedypaul

I've used the Post office 'International signed for service' several times to send doccuments to TRNC and had no problems. Everything has arrived within 5 days.

Don't take any notice of the on line tracking service, once the letter leaves the UK it is not recorded on to the system. ( a doccument I sent almost two years ago is still awaiting delivery, even though it was received in a few days)!!!

Make sure you address the letter to Mersin 10 TURKEY and NOT North Cyprus.

I had documents sent from Australia a few weeks ago normal registered post they turned up within 10 days at Esentepe no problems. I received a notification slip in my post box and had to go in and sign to get them.

Hi Speedypaul. I was quoted £53.00 to mail contract docs with DHL (in triplicate) but Transglobal express charged £27.00 (yes, half price) to mail with DHL - bizarre... they got to Solicitors in Girne 4 days later.. It was v. easy & all done on-line. I'd use them again. My previous docs sent by Post Office took nearly three weeks. Good luck. Jac

Paul

I'm flying to NC from the UK next week 6th June. I can take for you if that would help (secure and save you the cost).
