I have bought a bread maker and all the loaves I make are turning out too crispy around the edges, I do choose the light version but still end up with crispy edges.

I don't particularly want to just do the dough mixture in this machine and then bake the loaf in the oven, I want to persevere and use the machine from beginning to end.

We seem to have a lot of bread makers on this forum so I would be grateful of any advice!

Thank you

scooby

It may be a help to post the make of your machine as others with the same machine may be able to tell you the workarounds for that particular problem.

Doesn't your instruction book have a troubleshooting guide? Every machine is different so it is hard to say. It maybe inaccurate measuring of ingredients.

Okay, I have a Morphy Richards Compact breadmaker and I have looked in the trouble shooting guide and the only thing it suggested was that there was too much sugar in it so I have made extra sure that I have measured the ingredients accurately and still end up with a very crusty outer layer.

If no-one on here has anything to add, it might be worth giving Morhy Richards a ring using Skype, if you've got it - +44 (0)844 871 0944

Or try sending your query via the form on this webpage - http://www.morphyrichards.co.uk/Contact.aspx

Failing all else, you could try switching the machine off & whipping the bread out 5 minutes before the end of the cycle!
