Having a glance through some recent posts I’ve seen how many of you seem to love movies as much as I do! I’ve got some catching up to do though as haven’t seen Colour Purple or Warm Springs yet. I was a bit surprised no one else’s favourite movie is Shawshank Redemption! It’s my favourite movie of ALL time! My girlfriend’s just laughed at me for this though and says Gladiator is much better! (She’s sooooo wrong!) Anyway, I was asking who loves movies; as I wanted to let you know about becoming a member of Cine Miles…as movies are what Cine Miles is ALL about (plus the great food of course!) The plan is throughout 2010 to show some of our member’s favourite films on our big screen outside during the summer for all to enjoy, upstairs in the winter or on our big screen in our VIP room (in the upstairs restaurant) for individual members when celebrating their birthday or special occasion or something! Plus there will be loads of other movie-related stuff going on throughout the year.

Hi Oz, as you can see from this thread that I started on 6th December, The Shawshank Redemption was indeed the most voted for film by Forum members followed by The Green Mile so you are in good company http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/27317.asp

- Casa blanca - Psycho - Blade Runner I agree that "2010" is only special effects. This can sound weird, but nowadays I don't see that Americans know too much about cinema (not like before). They use the best specialists and millions of dollars to make films with no human content, no message, no something to think about. With some good exceptions, of course. Forget about Hollywood and watch the US independent movies, European and Asian cinema (IMHO). Glad to see that still somebody remembers the Goonies Films for children are also important.

Ups! I mixed up this post with the other one. Anyway, it's good that there is people here promoting the love for cinema. And I would like to go a step further: not only to watch films, but also to MAKE films. I want to start with two short films. I will let you know when I need actors and crew (that will be soon). Cheers!
