I am very proud to announce that JCR Eurasia Rating has assigned a credit rating of (AA-(Trk)) along with a ‘positive’ outlook to Creditwest Bank on the long term national scale, which denotes the “very high investment grade” criterion.

All the banks here have this insurance. The banks have to pay a premium each year to the TRNC Central Bank of 1% of their total customer funds on deposit.

An amount of up to 20,000 euros per account (not per Bank) is covered. This means that you could in theory have 10 accounts each with a max. of 20,000 euros & 120,000 euros would be covered. You could have similar arrangements with many banks.

PS. I do not work for Creditwest. I'm just a satisfied customer.

Scruff you are absolutely right I hope that answers your question newguy. Cyprusquest you are right I did post last week but it didnt appear in the banking sector so I added the word "Bank" and reposted. The final A is politically based and as we all know we do not have the best situation here in the TRNC, nothing the bank could do to change this, but you have to consider that the AA rating is the first for a bank here in North Cyprus, plus we have also gotten full marks on a rating/evaluation the Central Bank conducted recently, which is another clear indication of our banks soundness...you can always ask your bank how they rated on a scale of 1 to 5 and then decide where you wish to bank.

Thanks negativenick as you all know there is a global economic slow down going on right now so for a local bank to get such a good rating is a great achievement, but our bank puts all this success down to its customers and are proud to share it with them.

10 accounts with 20,000 euros each is a total of 200,000 euros. so a 120.000 euros return is a 40% loss or

should i go back to school.

re. messages 10 & 11 repeated.

You are correct of course, 10 x 20 = 200. My mistake when I said 120,000. Senior moment. I usually cope with 20 times tables?
