Try Gulyen Fish ,on the right as you go down to the Mercure, very reasonable and candles on the table lol.

my favorite is ANI balik, very close to Malpas hotel, but is out of your Lapta - Girne range.

I hated the service at the restaurant which looks like a creepy ship at alsancak.

Although it is not a fish restaurant, Afrodit - Cemal's place at Lapta -" the restaurant with donkey " sometimes has very fresh fish and cooks it well on wood coal.

By the way is he still open? I used to go there very often when i was living in lapta.

I would go to Missina in Karaoglanoglu. The restaurant is very nice inside though not particular intimate. Nice tablecloths, cutlery and glassware. I would recommend the king prawns wrapped in seabass fillets, it's delicious.

Lagoon opposite Niazis is an excellent fish restaurant & not overly priced. Their full fish meze is gorgeous & service very good too. Have been several times & never had a disappointing meal.

WE ended up in Guler's.Front part not open,so we ate in a "shed" in the garden.

Had to suffer staff or owner's husband watching Turkish TV,managed to leave before football started.

But,the food was excellent, and reasonably priced

And number of customers?just the two of us.

Will try another retaurant next time

Best places to eat fish (I was introduced there by TC friends): near Alagadi Beach, in Tatlisu and Bogaz (road from Famagusta to the Karpaz). All the managers/owners of these restaurants own boats and bring fresh fish ashore almost daily. Yes, I know, it's out of the way and not between Girne and Lapta, but definitely worth the time and the drive. I have not found one restaurant (Girne -> Lapta) that can match the ones I have mentioned. And there are two more fine fish restaurants some 20 kilometres west of Güzelyurt.

Had one of the worst meals in TRNC at Messina.

Overpriced, friendly but inefficient staff (took them over 20 mins to tell us what we'd ordered wasn't available!), also when you look at how many are enjoying themselves at Address next door and you're the only ones on the terrace at Messina...waiting and waiting and waiting for the, very average, food to come...then you know you won't be going again...we haven't!

Try the very delicious fish items on the menu at Chinese House...still a bit pricey but very enjoyable.
