I read this interesting message on TRNC VO board and I happen to know that the author is temporarily (4000 days or so...) unable to post on this board. So I copy/paste the message.

Hi Guys, as the server won't be used for biz, I'm giving free access to the UK servers over Xmas and again over new year.

The Christmas settings are :

The following information is for Microsoft Windows XP/Vista

1. Go to "help and support" in Windows

2. search for VPN

3. follow the wizard instructions to set up a new VPN connection ( calling it , for example, UK VPN -see below )

4. Select smyth_mark as your user name

5. Select bonnoel as your password

6. Select vpnuk.uktvabroad.com as the IP address / host name

7. Chose a name like “UK VPN” for the connection / destination name

There is NOTHING needed to be entered / changed in your browser. ( if you have used Putty.exe as an SSH Proxy connection you should remove all references to ports in your browser – unless your isp requires it)

Once you are connected, verify you are in the UK, by visiting http://www.ip-adress.com ( yes only ONE d) and you should have a UK location

Then, you can visit any of the UK TV websites, http://tvcatchup.com or http://www.zattoo.com and download the set-up, run it, and register. You should then be watching UK tv – you must be logged into the UK VPN to set-up or watch – to connect / disconnect you can right mouse click the network icon in the task bar near to the time.

If you get stuck – ASK – we want to to successfully connect Smile

IF you can't connect, it may be a simple thing or your time has expired – the accounts are only valid for 48 hours or so from issue – if you didn't use it and the time expired – ask again – but if you DID use it – please be honest – we can and do check Wink

Also, if you use “internet Security Software” e.g Norton, McAfee, AVG, Kaspersky, etc. You will undoubtedly have problems to connect. These programs needlessly block VPN ports. We suggest the complete removal of the programs - and use of the standard Windows firewall and a free anti –virus prog – such as AVG free – ( http://free.avg.com )

You may use the test or full accounts from only one connection at a time - but you CAN use more than one computer behind the connection.
