Our son (my stepson but still mine) is somewhere in a submarine not allowed to contact any family will not be able to contact us but most important his son and his two little daughters. Got an e-mail from his wife earlier today and she is struggling to be Mrs Clause. His son who is a lot older than his little step sisters knows dad can be away but the two girls don't understand that even tho dad has his phone when he left home

can't contact them or be with them for Xmas.

It is so sad for my little family but at least I thank God that Steven is not in the front line in Afghanistan. My thoughts are with the loved ones left behind with the boys and girls that are in a war zone this Christmas. Jamie, Chloe and Lauren will still have a good time, and hopefully they will have a belated celebration when their dad comes home.

Irene and all.

I am somewhat sad that my son is on the other side of the world again this Christmas. But, he is safe and well. My heart goes out to all of those who have sons/daughters/other family members fighting in war zones. Please God they come home safe and sound.

God bless.
