Christmas day: another young dog (guestimated age: 6 months) was dumped at Guido's Bistro - and of course TRNC angel Liz could not close her heart. This lovely young dog, temporarily called "Holly", very friendly and trusting people, is now waiting for someone who wants her. Please can anybody take this beauty. Im so upset today just been to feed and walk her and the other two strays are still there lookng so pitiful.Its causing a nuisance to the other shops. I just broke down. I spoke to a lady at KAR but until Margaret Rey comes in there is nothing she can do. I have given her the tag numbers so at least the will know the area they came from. I beg any one who have to leave your animals behind not to dump them on me anymore. I just cant take it

It's getting more and more difficult to home dogs via this board, but it would be a very nice end of the year 2009 if this "Holly" can find a boss+home. Yes, I know, 2010 won't be much different. Sigh.

Lilli - a thought; have you put photographs of the stray dogs you are kindly caring for, on the wall outside, or somewhere nearby for folks to see, so that anyone passing who may know the owners or have lost their own dogs - might recognise them? I say this, because a friend of ours in Alsancak has lost his Alsation mix (called Joe) a few days ago, somehow Joe got free and has run away (or been taken, or something has happened) as our friend has two dogs, both of whom he loves. He rescued Joe from someone else who was going to have him put down a year ago - he stopped him just in time, and told him to give him Joe instead (he is one of many TC who loves their dogs) and Joe has been a good companion for him as well as his other dog ever since. He has driven around everywhere looking for him - I'll send him a message to come by and see if you have Joe......

Hello MsGarnet I have not seen Joe but will certainly look out for him. The pictures of the dogs are at the start of this thread and the other one about christmas carolsThose are the strays. However I will get some pictures of them all and place around as you so rightly point out it could be someone who does not read these posts or a TC who maay well have lost thier pet. The two brothers are street dogs as they have the red tags. Rowan she is a real beauty as are the two street dogs. Those are the ones Im more worried about. I know you are dogged up but if you know anyone at all please tell them to contact me, even if I could get them fostered until I find homes for Holly and Dylan. Anything to get them away from that road . xx

Hi again DC at the cost of sounding like a joke which has been said to me tonight, to let you know that the two brothers the strays are also being fed by the hairdressers and the pastry shop. When I wENT intonight to feed and walk them i saw the next door feeding them and the hairdresser giving them water. I think I may have someone to take them I will know tomorrow xxxx

bogle they will, my customers do not get doggy bags they get the real thing. My other resolution is to win the lottery so no more sad cases. Im just the stepping stone in these poor souls lives and those I have already found great homes for are so happy. i get photos or brought back into see me and that makes me happy. Loely customers bring me in tins of food for which I am always grateful so its not all bad. I did get very upset this morning seeing those sad faces and thinking I cant do anything, then my positive head came back and you know what I can and i will xxxxxxx If some see me as a joke well thats up to them

Holly still thinks she is a lab. she at the vets tomorrow as she has devoloped now a large lump on her beautiful head. I do not know if its an allergy as she had turkey xmas day along with stufffing or a bump or a cyst. please be to god its nothing but she will be at pertev tomorrow xxxxx apart from that she is a beaut two tukish customers tonigh asked me if they could see her. Yesterday and Sunday a black and tan Alasation was in the area of Haci Ali Crystal Villas, just off the Merit Hotel Road. It wasn't there for very long, but came two days running. We have been out all day today, so have not seen him since yesterday. If Joe is still missing this may be of interest to your friend. Will watch out tomorrow and post if we see any sign of the dog.

i hope you find him thet have very strange hiding places. When I go on my rounds every night withy food I never find them in the same place yet the two who turned up xmas day just roll into one and i find them if they dont find me first every time. See DC s pictures and see what i mean xs

The aforementioned Alsation (mess. 22) is still in the vicinity of the Merit Hotel Road/Crystal Villas. He is wearing a chain collar and appears to have the remnants of an old bandage on a front paw. Poor thing is looking decidedly skinny and seems to have a problem with his right back leg or hip. If anyone knows the owner please let them know he is here as he is looking very sad.

My friend found Joe two days ago - no idea if he is the same dog as mentioned in msg 31 (I am off the Island as we speak - only received a text telling me Joe was home - so don't know details as yet) I hope it wasn't him, poor dog - I can't bear to keep reading about all these waifs and strays, poorly and in desperate need of a cuddle - it is heartbreaking.......
