For anybody who is interested, the Final of Season 8 will be shown on ShowPlus (20) on Thursday 31 December at 21.30. repeated presumably on Friday.

The final show is a good one. Watched it earlier this year on MBC.



Look out for Adam singing with Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen. Freddie is not dead.



The winner is .................the wrong person in our opinion.

I agree about the winner. I think the runner-up was ten times better. (I am so sad - I checked to see who won weeks ago on the internet - better for my nerves!!)

We saw this episode 6 months ago in Saudi Arabia. The result was a clear demonstration of the failing of the Idol concept, for in the opinion of all here, and that's quite a crowd, Kris simply wasn't in the same league as Adam.



It, unfortunately, is little more than a popularity contest, judged by how good the support system of each competitor is, and how many kids can be encouraged to perform the necessary phone manipulations to ensure maximum penetration.



Apart from that, it's reasonable entertainment.

I think the result is long forgotten by Adam Lambert. He has gone on to do some major appearances such as closing the show at the recent prestigious AMAs (American Music Awards) in front of other "A" list performers and both he and Kris have successful albumns out so Idol has been the launch pad for both their careers and certainly I think Adam Lambert will be around for some time to come.
