If the developer carried on building and sold these houses despite the court dispute, the developer is responsible and accountable to the owners if they are still trading. Furthermore, the authorities who gave the building permission is also responsible and should compensate the house owners. Even if the developer acted irresponsibly and carried on building, it was the municipalities responsibility to stop them. Hence, the house owners should be able to recover their costs but they have to be careful which solicitor or advocate they choose. They are same everywhere. There are good ones and bad ones, some with hearts and some without.
