Hi to you all and may I take this oppertunity to wish you all well for 2010 HAPPY NEW YEAR when it comes...

I have a printing problem with my Epson DX 4000 series printer, It Won't; print that is loaded new inks and tried to print nozzel check no sign so have run head cleaning quite a few times (Enough to exhaust the Black ink) no print patern at all.

I have checked with Epsom who recommend cleaning the heads (Done) if not succesfull then repair will be needed....

Anyone know of a shop/person who can do these repairs in and around the Girne area?

All sensible answers will be checked out.

Thank you

Cassius.

P.S. I'd like to print this out but I can't...

From own experience, Epson and most other printers are simply disposable items. There are no "replacable" parts simply because of the cost factor.

We had to buy a new one unfortunatley.

The most common problem with Epson printers is one (or more) clogged, very thin plastic pipe in the printer head. If you follow the (excellent) instructions you can do it yourself. Usually time consuming but I have done it several times with success: http://www.google.com/search?q=problem%20epson%20printer&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

I had a problem when I replaced some of the Epsom inks they showed full on the display on the computer after replacement

Took printer to the ink shop it was partially printing ,very grained. After a few tests they replaced the inks which they had not supplied and it worked they informed me that the cartridges I had added that were not working were empty

The simple test is a full cartridge weighs heavier than an empty one

Hope this helps

The shop is a UK one

cyprusishome is correct there is no point in having an Epsom printer repaired, this also applies to some other makes. New printers are cheap as chips.
