The following is FACT.

Question: Since July 2007 pubs have become much more smelly. Why is this?



Answer: Many people have noticed that since July 07 British pubs have become smellier. This can be dated to the government ban on smoking in public places, which came into operation that month.

Beer causes humans to emit a large amount of gas. Prior to July 07 the smell of this gas was offset not only by the smoke from cigarettes, but also by the simple act of lighting them: the flame would help eradicate any surrounding fumes.

Now that smokers have been forced to move outdoors, aroma-sensitive pub landlords have tried installing automatic air-fresheners, squirting the scent of lavender or lemon into the air at regular intervals. (cont'd)

Yet this has the unfortunate effect of making pubs smell even more like public lavatories.



Would you credit it? ( Bet this present government has spent £thousands on a working study to report back on our smelly pubs). Bring back our civil liberties and we'll come up smelling of roses again !

Reminds me of a joke................



Wee Jimmy always wanted a red tractor and he saved all his pocket money so that on his 18Th birthday he could go and buy one.



At last the day dawned and he went off with his beloved dog Jock to the tractor showroom. Just as he was turning the corner, a big red tractor mounted the pavement and ran over and killed Jock. Jimmy was totally devastated and went back home vowing to hate tractors forever.



To cheer himself up, he thought that he would go to the pub and buy his first pint. As he entered he noticed a terrible smell and remarked to the landlord about it. The landlord said that he had tried everything to be rid of it but nothing worked.



Jimmy seized his chance and said that he could clear the stink for free beer, the landlord agreed.



Jimmy jumped on top of the bar and took a very deep breath and ran outside to exhale. After doing this 6 times the bar was smelling like roses. Amazed, the landlord asked how he did it and Jimmy said.
