the ultimate plan B is turkey annexing north cyprus the main implications would be: howls of protest from south of the green line ...more seriously, a sort of: while you thought you could bully the trnc, it's their big brother who has arrived at the playground the fur could really fly! but for the average cyprus 44 punter? little or no change

db The point is it is called the Isle of Wight and not called England, in response to the question posed by Paul as a comparative. The fact that I mispelled the name of the Island does not alter that fact, Actually!

So when they finally call a halt to the talks and we have seperation am i right to think that Northern Cyprus will remain as Northern Cyprus.I honestly cant see it as it will not have any connection to Cyprus anymore, Grey.

Greylag, msg.23. ..."it will not have any connection to Cyprus anymore..." The island of Cyprus will always remain named as such. Within the island you can have 2 or even 3 separate states with their own respective 'titles' but always with 'Cyprus' contained within that title. Part of the problem lies with the GCs wanting back for themselves the whole of Cyprus while the TRNC, after 35+ years, will never cede their claim to the northern half of the island of Cyprus which was effectively annexed in l974.
