does anyone know if you can get a police check done at Girne police station and if so how long does it roughly take?

hi debdebs.

Yes you can! You need to ask for a "Karakter Bolgesi"

You can arrange this at Girne Police station - it takes around 3 weeks, I was advised that if I went to Lefkosa police it would be ready the following day!

You do need to have some stamps but I can't remember the amount! it wasn't much.

The policemen in the office 1st left as you enter Girne police station are very helpful tho and will give you all the info you need.

Hope this helps!

I too was told, when I went to Girne police station, that it would take approximately 3 weeks so I opted to go down to Lefkosia station instead. I got it within an hour...! They were helpful and efficient...(ish!! ) I think it was about 16TL for stamps...?! Can't quite remember - that could be totally wrong!! It was nearly a year ago now...

Thanks everyone for your help.

AJ.. my husband works abroad and is changing jobs, he was hoping he could get the police check done here and avoid going back to the UK.
