I find car insurance a nightmare. A Quote who I use in UK are trying to rip me off for every cent as I struggle to explain my situation having a winter in TRNC and then returning in the spring to UK by car. The premium goes up every time I tell them something. They deserve ripping off. Everyone is into short term gain nowadays without any long term planing.

I thought that the rate for third party car Insurance was a fixed minimum & no point in shopping around for like for like cover? Is this difference accounted for by higher cover for the third party vehicle maximum damage figure?

Fully Comp is a different matter but when you buy fully comp. the quote is seperate from the third party element of the total cost. Also 3rd party was quoted in TL, but we were we quoted the fully comp. part in Sterling last year.

We paid 240 TL last May for the third party element.

A Clarification from someone about this would be helpful. Maybe someone who is in the Insurance business here can comment?

Third party cover is supposed to be a fixed rate of 250TL but we have an offer on at Turk Bank at moment and if you pay in full, then we can offer Third Party cover for 230 TL.

Please call and see me if interested. My details are as above.

Many thanks

I don't know what my new policy is yet for this year as it's not due till 28th but last year I paid 230tl. if mine has increased this year and your policy is the same then i'll definitely be in to see you. how long will it take to get the documents?

thanks

Hi Denise

It is for 3rd party only cover which is the minimum legal requirement. They do not offer Third Party Fire and Theft cover here. If you want to come and see me I will gladly discuss everything with you and if you do go ahead, you will have your policy in 10 minutes.

Kind regards
