Oops, I had an e mail from someone who said the market is under new management, is continuing, and will now be open from 10a.m. to 1p.m. I also heard that enterprising Peler is moving to Girne Market if and when it is right to do so. These confusing messages are just that - confusing, and if any stall holders who want to continue on a Sunday at Karakum get to here of the cancellation, that is letting them down. Of course if the info I got is wrong, that I am now confusing others. Perhaps someone else connected with the Sunday market would like to comment.

Yes, I had also heard that Peler was moving to start up at a larger place, and the Karakum market would carry on, but with someone else running it. Not everyone wanted to move to where the Wednesday Girne market is, so someone else said they would carry on and take over Karakum. It was then up to the stall holders which market they chose to go to. As far as I had heard, the new market has not been finalised yet. If no one else comes up with the answer about Karakum, I will find out on Saturday if it is still going ahead and post on here Saturday.

As I said on the other thread 'Stella' it is DEFINITELY going to be at Karakum this Sunday. I have it on good authority from Maureen who runs a wool and haberdashery stall. You are quite correct in all you say, and Peler will make an announcement soon about the alternate one. I have evenput a notice in the paper that Karakum is continuing. As I say, there appears to have been a bit of a misunderstanding . Peler's idea is great, but as stall holders at Karakum say, they serve the local village. I think Peler's move to Girne would serve people around there, so all the more the merrier (bot not to upset anyone, eh?

Thanks for that MarieB. I am a stallholder and I had expected to be going to Karakum this weekend, so was quite put out by Littleme. I and the other stall holders would appreciate it if this was taken off the board, as people are still going to read the heading of Karakum Market Closed, when it is not. Littleme should get the facts correct before posting notices that are clearly untrue.

At the time of putting up the post on behalf of Peler the Karakum Market/Boot fair ORGANIZER the information I gave was correct. I was not aware that one of the stallholders had ousted Peler without his knowledge & taken the market from him & understand that 2 or 3 stallholders will be there but the majority of stallholders will be at Pembegul Garden Center by K-Pet petrol garage on the Bellapais Road as from 17th January 2010 in support of him & all his hard work to get the market up & running. He will also still be donating half of stallholder rent to Cheshire Homes as he has always done so. FIRST MONTH STALLHOLDERS RENT FREE - if you wish to donate a small amount to Cheshire homes you may do so. I would have been grateful had someone checked or informed me that my post was to be deleted before doing so & on the say so of others to verify information. thank you Mary

Oh dear, Mary - I for one am still confused. I didn't think lovel.y Peler was 'ousted' but that he wanted tomove on, and some of the stallholders didn't. So, what is wrong with the Star Bowling place? Why has Peler moved to Bellapais and not Girne as he had hoped. Why mov e out of Star Bowling, unless of course there are problems with the management or some such. I am sure readers of this Forum would likde to know they can go on a Sunday morning for a market - and I am sure that they would not mind supporting two, but all these conflicting postings has got me really confused. Can someone clarify exactly who is doing what where?

From information that I have been given by the Market/Bootfair organizer Peler, he is moving to Pembegul Garden Centre this is the location of his market/bootfair every sunday starting 17 Jan 2010 10am-3pm & that the majority of stallholders will be moving there from Karakum market. If Star Bowling continue then I wish them good luck I see no harm in more than one running . I would think the only persons who can answer your questions correctly on what happend at the previous location would be Peler or the owner of Star Bowling I would certainly not answer for him, My intrest is to put information up for the market from the organizer of it as I have done so in the past & do the best I can with the information given to me. As for the location I feel that is of no importance to me nor to customers as to why one place was chosen over another by the organizer of the market/bootfair. mary
