| when I first moved to Stockport, 20 odd years ago, a bookie had done the same. They shouldn't take the bet if they can't afford to pay up. Sure little (woods) ;-) can |

| If the Bookie had thier "Rules + Conditions" displayed anywhere on the walls of the betting shop then they are within their rights to make a bet null and void. It is another thing if they did not have them displayed. Any outcome will then depend on the good will of the organisation but considering the amounts mentioned here, i would not count on that. It would be pure business suicide to accept such a bet anyway so i suspect they were relying on the displayed Rules + Conditions. And any employee can make a mistake. |

| I think that if he is a regular better then he would have known they would not pay out and indeed that the odds cannot be used in his bet. The odds are based on the predicting the possibility of snow in a given area at a given time before the event. Clearly once the event had happened in one area the odds tumble for the other areas. |
