1,000 trees burned in Cyprus fire

One hundred acres of land has been destroyed in a fire which broke out near Karpasa Village in the Kyrenia district of occupied northern Cyprus on Saturday.



50 acres of cultivated land and 50 acres of forest land were completely burned out in the fire, which broke out at around 2pm.



Over 1,000 pine trees were completely burned as a result of the fire.



The fire was put out at around 4.30pm thanks to the efforts of Kyrenia and Nicosia fire brigades.
