Heard on Sky News this morning that some lady TV presenter and part time model was at home in her kitchen when she saw 2 guys at her window. She picked up a knife from her kitchen sink and waved it at them. The guys ran off. Police are now concidering charging her with being in possession of an ofensive wepon. If she had been raped I have no doubt that the police would have said that it was her own fault because she was wearing pajamas at the time.

At the bottom of that story is this :

In December, Munir Hussain was jailed for attacking a man who tied up his family in their home. He and his brother used a cricket bat to beat one of the intruders.

The UK is certainly in a sorry state

The woman could not be prosecuted she would have to be in a public place with the knife.

BILLY - yes, but she dared to be in her kitchen with a knife

Nothing would surprise me, to be honest.

A friend of mine, a security guard, was off work because he had had a motor bike accident which left him with a broken collar bone, arm and wrist. He was in bed, his children asleep, when he heard his patio door slide open. He went downstairs to find one guy walking out with his sound system and the other guy rifling through his tv unit. The first guy legged it and all my friend could do was grab the second bloke with his good arm and 'nut' him. He then sat on him until the police came.

My friend was charge with GBH for using unnecessary force and lost his license to work.

Unbelievable..perhaps he should have helped them out with whatever they wanted!

Lilli now you know why I think that NC is a doddle compared with living in the UK now.

We have people in this area dumping dogs now after xmas, and what makes me more angry is the dumping of ponies and vietnemese pigs, they all look nice and cute when babies but they too grow up and take an awful lot of money in food.... Grrrrrr

Back on thread, the police have become a body that has lost a lot of respect from ordinary people, our police take things into extreme interpretation.......

Mr Vince,

Why not come back, and play your rightful part.

Wingeing on an overseas forum is hardly being an active and positive contributor to the UK economy.

Mr wynyardman

Why would I want to return to UK and live under ar**hole laws like this one. I would rather stay away from the lunatics who seem to have taken over the asylum. The country is full of PC nonsence and it is probably illegal to critisise or voice an opinion. Islam fundamentalists who are protected by law and able to spout biggotry and incite riots with impunity; Local Authorities who act like Orwellian Thought Police; courts who think that offenders have greater rights than victims; thugs, druggies, arseholes, council house inbreds who now own the streets that you walk down. Come back to UK and play my rightful part? Be a positive contributor to the UK economy? FECK OFF. That glass of red wine in your hand has clearly befuggled your tiny brain. If you could afford itthen you would bail out as well, however seeing as you can't then you can take my place.

From what i understand for the most part burgulars just want to rob you they do not want to hurt you but when confronted the loss of a life becomes a higher percentage...therefore will prosecuting the home owner in a round about way urges people to do no confronting...simply let them take what they want...better to take a bump in insurance payments than lose a life...same goes with car-jacking purse-snatching etc etc...let them take what they want...a life should be worth more than a car a tv or a purse.

I am almost certain that in the run up to the next general election it will be on at least one parties manifesto to bring in a law that it will be illegal to lock the doors on your business or home because doing so will infringe on the thieves and thugs human rights. Their was a prison closed over the festive season in Scotland and the hundred odd inmates were allowed home for Christmas. Now doesn't that make you feel safe in your own home (not!) If anyone is in your home uninvited then you should be allowed to protect your family, Britain has now become a joke where the law is concerned.

In the newspaper last week one poor rapist who is an atheist is complaining his human rights are being infringed as he has to share his cell with a Christian and is looking for compensation!!!! Says it all. Here am I worrying about the gas bill when all these poor dear murders, rapists etc are being kept in the lap of luxury. All at taxpayers expense!

Understand your point but cannot agree. By using that approach you allow the 'scum' total impunity to do as they see fit. If confronted by a person(s) who wished to steal the possessions that I have worked hard to buy, then I would defend them to my last breath and should I cause them 'damage' then I would face the consequences later. I could at least go into court with my dignity intact and knowing that what I did was right. Why should we allow these low lifes to ruin peoples lives !!

Just my opinion of course

Paul
