the score was 0-0 and the race is on to see which President will back out of the talks first. The odds currently are Talat 8/11 and Christofias 3/2

read a few feeds that dont give goods vibes that any agreement will come from these talks. apparently a leak from the turkish side shows they want the right to international agreements on their own and want the islands air space control. christofias is under huge pressure from is own and opposition party to walk away.

well andy I really hope so, experience with these blockades is they start to break down when one or two smaller countries go behind the backs of the powers that be erm... it's my personal belief that america's urgency for "regime change" in iraq was partly motivated by states lining up to sign deals with sadaam, not so small countries like russia, france, china, germany etc

I just wish somebody would finally wake up and take the decision out of the hands of these two leaders. The whole thing is a ridiculous going through the motions, the Greeks in particular couldn't give a monkeys,as seen by this weeks tiff. Greece is a bankrupt country, the only thing going for it is nice beaches,I cannot believe the clout this country seems to have. The only way any progress will be made is if the big players came in and told both countries some hard truths, mind you do they even care,we'll find out this year I suppose. Everyone gets excited by these talks, don't get me wrong it would be great if a solution was found, but they've had 60 meetings, they must have made some progress, but to date the squabbling continues. I won't hold breath! Stu

Am sure you may have seen it already, but will post the link again here just in case.. I have set up an automatic feed for info on the current talks in Cyprus here http://www.lincguide.com/review/cyprus-talks/ It pulls in an extract from stories and opinions from all over the web, from there you can visit the original story.. It constantly updates, so its a good source of info..
