I am, but don't think its affecting me like that. Perhaps you arent on a high enough dose? Maybe a blood test is due to be on the safe side?

Ive been taking it for 21 yrs with no problems , High BP is'nt a common side effect , unless your levothyroxine dose is too high , but if you have regular TFT's done it gives you the levels . Simbas

Hypertension (high blood pressure)isn't a usual side effect of levothyroxine. Taking too much - in one dose,or over time can cause serious heart problems in a few people. Side effects(usually after over dose) can also include palpitations, irregular heart beat, muscle cramps, head aches and loss of weight. Tell yr doctor if you get any symptoms. You should have had a pre treatment ECG

Hi I've been taking it for 10 years and no side effects. When I was diagnosed the doctor told me that it was one of the safest synthetic medicines to take because there is virtually no differance between that and the real thing Brend

I have been taking it now for 5 years...I was once prescribed a higher dose and ended up with an irregular heartbeat but never had high blood pressure. You really need to have regular blood tests done to keep an eye on your levels and make sure you are taking the right amount of medication. I was last checked in July in the UK, not sure where to go here, if anyone can recommend where to have the checks done please let me know. Thanks

I do have regular checks at Lamel Medical Laboratory, Dr.Salih Miroglu Cad. which is just off the "water feature" roundabout,-excellent service. Results have been normal, both TSH and FT4, but last week I re-visited hospital for a full check and scan, and Blood Pressure had shot up to an all-time high, with no apparent reason. Research online found a link mentioned between Levothyroxine and High Blood Pressure,-therefore my enquiry. Thanks for all your replies.

Dosage for dogs with hypothyroidism The dosage for dogs with hypothyroidism is usually a twice daily dose of between 10-40 mcg per kg of body weight. Usually at the beginning of the treatment, the lowest dose is used and 4 weeks later the blood values are checked to see if the drug has responded. The dosage is increased as necessary until normal levels are achieved
