Grey, That is a very good question. When does am turn to pm? Oh heck, why don't we use the 24 hour notation and do away with the ambiquity? Shall we say 12.30 hrs? ismet

It's all easy - anything after 'noon' which is 12, is p.m. (post meridien), so 12.30 is p.m. if it is lunch time, or a.m. if the middle of the night, and I am pretty sure that Lilli doesn't want to start a party at that hour. Of course if you want to use the 24 hour clock, then 12.30a.m. would be 00.30hrs. It gets more complicated, doesn't it - so I guess 'lunchtime'# makes the most sense. What do we have to pay Lilli?

RE msg 3, Ismet: (...) Oh heck, why don't we use the 24 hour notation and do away with the ambiquity? (...) => You must be kidding, Ismet! That's what we do on the Continent! You can't expect the British people do the same, can you..?!

Oh dear Hans, you must not lump all Brits together - you should know that. My husband, who is British through and through drives me nuts with his insistenc\e with the 24 hour clock. Must have been his time in the R.A.F But I take the point about dinner/lunch. That does kinda depend on geography, or is it 'station'. My dad had dinner at midday, but I have dinner in the evening, when my dad would have had 'supper'. But whatever you call it, Lilli is holding a 'farewell' at 12.30p.m, or 12.30 hrs! That is all that matters!
