My best friend Irene known to Cyprus44 as Boglefan, last year battled breast cancer and won thanks to the people on Cyprus44 who sent their good wishes and prayers.



Always one for attention she has now fallen and broke her ankle in 2 places and her tibia, she is in hospital in Scotland and they will operate tomorrow.



Think she needs to move here so I can look after her!

So very sorry to hear about this latest piece of bad luck for Irene and sincerely hope the op is a success and she makes a good recovery. Think you'll have to be patient (no pun intended) though, Chris, as it could be some time before she's literally on her feet. Good friends are priceless....... Glad she had the chance to attend her aunt's 80th party last w/end.......

You would have thought that after she fell and broke her ankle in the first place she would have gone to hospital and not to the next place so that she coud fall again and break it in the second place. Some people never learn

Update on Boglefan,

Her husband phoned last night she had been going shopping at 09.30 yesterday when she slipped on ice (hard to avoid ice at the moment in the UK). A neighbour heard her, alerted her son and phoned for the ambulance. The neighbour then telephoned her husband who works 15 miles away. Guess what her hubby got to the hospital 20 minutes before the ambulance!!! Irene lives 2 miles from Monklands Hospital In Airdrie.

Anyway because of the double fracture to her ankle she is going to theatre this morning to get it pinned. She also has a fracture to her tibia just below the knee. So she is going to be plastered for a while.



Asked for her laptop to be taken into the hospital as she is missing her Cyprus44 fix.

If she had been drinking no doubt she would have got away with just being bruised Jean but first thing in the morning drinking is out even for Irene.!



I will pass on your good wishes when hopefully I speak to her tonight but don't be surprised if she is on Cyprus 44 tonight.

Update on Boglefan / Irene. I have just phoned Monklands Hosptital and she is still waiting to go to theatre! So not just North Cyprus that is inconsistent with its care!
