Is it possible to hire a car from Larnaca Airport - take it into TRNC for two weeks and then return it back to Larnaca at the end of the holiday.

thank you

If you hire a car in the south and take it to the North the insurance you get is only 3rd. party. Many people will tell you that they get fully comprehensive insurance but this is not true.

Also if you have problems, a breakdown or worse a crash it is your responsibilty to get the car back to the south.

Would you drive a hire car in the UK only 3rd party insurance????

Quite a lot of car hire firms in the south will not allow their cars to go to TRNC, there are some that do though.

Shaky, I've done both. I found Petsas to be the cheapest and best of all the firms with booths at Larnaca, but we had to stop at their Nicosia office to arrange insurance. It may well only be 3rd party, but that's all I ever drive with anyway.

I've also used Aone from TRNC, and now only go that route. Ismail and his boys are very reliable, and the fee of GBP25 to pick you up from Larnaca and drive you into the TRNC is very reasonable.

Agree with Paul, contact Aone and even with transfer money it's cheaper than hireing from the south.
