Does anyone know of someone who repairs 'junk' jewellery. I have some beads that need re-stringing, and a few other bits that need repairing?

I wouldnt bother,you will only get ennoyed when you find out the cost of repair and start slugging off the locals for being a rip off.Plenty cheap s**t in mr.pound.

Good luck anyway,but dont say "I havent told you so".

Hey yorg., have you ever heard me slag off the locals????

Most of the locals that i have dealt with have been just about the nicest people I have met in my life.

As for cheap s'''t, i've had some of this 'junk' since I was fifteen years old, so it's got quite a bit of

sentimental value, and can't be replaced at Mr pound, but thanks anyway.

FF, any of the jewelers in town will help you. I had a stone replaced in my ring at no cost and a gold necklace repaired 10 Lira. Ignore yorgozlu, he may go away. ;-)

msg 3;

For once I had sense of humuor in my comments,hence the smileys.

Cheap s**t is how I always refer to them.

Slugging off the locals:speaking out of my expiriance,but I am also local!!

By the time you have them repaired and paid for them,you'd buy new ones in mr.pound.

However;

I couldnt give a s**t what you do with them,was just trying to be helpfull.And for that,once in my life,I am sorry for wasting my time.

Now;I am off to take my wife to mr.pound to buy some more cheap s**t.

Have a nice day.

Hi yorgozlu,

that's the trouble with computer messages, sometimes the 'humour' isn't noticable.

Anyway, hope you and your wife had a good day and grabbed some bargains.

Joan - go to Tunc on the lower corner opposite the KibTec office - he does not do gold or silver repairs there so has to add some TL to the cost (not many) but from experience his backup when he sends it away is well worth it as his English is good and he understands what you want done. Clasps and such like I have seen him repair on the spot for a few TL

Bits and pieces are normally back within 48/72 hours and if needed faster he would probably send you to the repairer. We use him for watches and have done so for over 10 years and the wife's occasional bits of jewellery too.
