Harita, will the machine allow you to press Ctrl+Alt+Del (hold them all down at the same time). The Task Manager should pop up, or you might have to click on 'Start Task Manager'.

If it allows you to do that, does it then show a list of applications running and can you click on each application in turn and then select 'End Task' to clear everything off? When they've all gone, then try closing the Task Manager and press Ctrl+Alt+Del again and then select 'log off' to give it a kick up the posterior. When it's finished shutting down, restart it again and see what happens. Worth a try. I'll ask hubby if he has any ideas when he wakes up!

When you press Ctrl Alt Delete do you actually see the Task Manager panel?
