The eye clinic .. Sorry couldn't resist that.

I believe there is one across from the Savoy hotel in Girne. If you go down the High Street straight through the crossroads keep going on the right hand side until you find a parade of shops set back from the road, I think there is a Cancer charity shop there as well. The clinic is in that parade somewhere.

Hi Smithy, I don't suppose you noticed if they do contact lenses as well did you? I use the extended wear ones ( you put them in the beginning of the month and they stay put for 28 days - brilliant idea as no fumbling for glasses each morning) and have a very understanding optician in the UK but it would be so much easier if I could get them here.

Booitsme,

Yes they do contact lenses as I had coloured ones when we first came her but alas can't wear them here as the heat dries my eyes up too much in the summer.

Don't know about the ones you want but would cost you nothing to go in and enquire. Good Luck if you don't get them there try Canada Optic near Astro in Girne.

Thanks for your help nurseawful, I'll give them a try. These lenses are actually more comfortable than the usual daily wear etc as they allow more oxygen through to the eye. If you're back in UK at all go to Specsavers and say you're interested in them and they'll give a pair to try for free
