What is the current state of the new byepass?

Is any part of the new byepass between Kyrenia and Alsancack open yet? We are due to come over in April and it would save us about 15 minutes travelling time if we could use the byepass.

It's open from the new Ezic restaurant to the GAU turn off. Traffic lights are not working as far as I know. The bit from GAU to the Edremit/ Karaman road and further is still closed.

keep driving up there to have a look, but it goes as far as the GAU then ends, looks like a few years yet I think, no sign of workmen there

You're right, it stops at GAU, I use it daily, however, I have seen vehicles drive on past GAU albeit a shingle road, unsure where that part ends though

Its due to be officially opened on the day Cyprus is reunited as one country with the ribbon to be cut by the Greek Cypriot President of a united Cyprus.







In the meantime we will all continue to use sections of it as we have been doing for years, its great fun especially at night in the dark !
