Hi, can anyone give me a clue - I've been renting for the past 3 months but haven't yet been presented with a gas bill. How often are gas bills issued? Also, can anyone tell me what is the cost of gas per unit - then at least I can calculate what sort of bill I'll be hit with when I leave?

Thanks.

There is no MAINS gas in TRNC does your landlord have an LPG/Propane tank in the garden?

I've no idea, may be he does, there's a restaurant downstairs and he has talked previously about whether I should pay £150 towards topping up his gas (though I didn't think I would use that in just 3 months). But there is a meter in the apartment so what does that mean?

Yes, it's a gas meter. When we first moved in he took a meter reading and wrote it on my contract. The meter is located just beneath the boiler that serves the gas central heating.

Just spoken to my hubby, yes, he has a tank in the garden.

Blimey, I hope my bill won't be so much. Our first month here, he wouldn't fix the central heating so we had to buy ourselves a gas heater. The only time we use it now is to heat water when we shower. The thermostat is up the creek and you're lucky if it stays on for more than 10 minutes then knocks itself off. So I'm hoping it'll be a small bill.

But how can I work out what it'll be?

I've heard on the grapevine that my landlord is a bit of a rogue so I want to work out a guestimate before he hits me with it.

if youn have a 500ltre gas bottle you would be looking around 600/ 700ytls to fill if you have 1000 it would be double if you are running your heating every day at mo and have not had a refill you must have a 1000ltre tank and i should think it is not far off empty
