after reading most post and pre oram verdict posts and articles it seems after all the hassle money and grief the horrid mr A will never after all get his hands back on the land or the villa!

seems to me to have been a GC government scheme to cause as much damage as possible to the trnc.

if i was advising the trnc government on what to do next it would be to start demollishing verosha/ famagusta in no mans land ready to rebuild as the main tourist area of northern cyprus, now that would realy give it them both barrells

It was said way back that Mr Candounas desire was to 'destroy the building industry in north Cyprus.' It is now being said that the same man's desire is to 'destroy the tourism industry in north Cyprus'. On the surface you could say that he is achieving this, but I think that the world is starting to put the entire business into a true perspective.

German tour agents have been told not to come to North Cyprus and have received lists of hotels which were formerly G.C.(or on GC land, although it does not clarify what) One of those hotels was listed as Onar Village, which was not built until 1991 on a mountainside. The way the list is presented, one would have no indication of the truth of Onar Village origins and that it was built on what was formerly recognised as 'exchange land'.

So, no 'tit for tat' necessary. Surely the truth will out and hopefully, the Secretary General of the U.N. may see the picture a little cleare over the week-end. So rather than retaliating, just wai

Mr A will NEVER collect his keys, nor his rent nor, until the TRNC government falls declares that the TRNC is no longer a country (which is a very unlikely event), will he ever get to demolish the house. The Orams may be made penniless in the UK but they still have a house in North Cyprus. They can give up on the UK anytime and move to the TRNC as full time residents. As the British government and Europe are not standing by them I suggest they move as soon as possible and put the last few years behind them and settle in peace and tranquility into their retirement.

Lovely thought, Timothy, but I believe they have emotional ties as well and those are the more difficult to give up. Theyshould NOT be forced into making such a decision, even though I know they are loved by many people here and would live in peace and tranquility.

All of us wish them well, and I am sure they will appreciate your thoughts, but I firmly feel they should be allowed to choose. Who knows which way the hand of destiny will push them, though.

It would be a hard decision for them for them to make Timothy.

My understanding is that Onar village was built by the Turkish Cypriot family who own the land, not exchange land.

If Mr A moved onto his land in Lapta how long do you think he would stay alive? Who would he get to do any work for him on the land once the Orams villa had been demolished. I dont think any TC would do it. He would not be able to get any GC over to do it, they would not be granted permits.

To repeat what I have said on other postings, now that the GC's have shown the depth of their hatred for EU citizens living in the TRNC I hope none of the same EU citizens are going to carry on supporting the RoC economy by continuing to shop in GC shops in the South or using Pafos or Larnaca.

If people resident in TRNC feel they are being 'ripped off' on the exhorbitant price of numerous products, why shouldn't they take advantage of cheaper, or more reasonable, prices in the South?

Not all GC's hate Brits or TC's, Dusterbruce - let's try not to be so emotive - please be reasonable!

I'm sure if Mr A really wants to collect then my good friend Yorgozlu will oblige and meet him at the border. Then take him to the airport free of charge.
