Thanks to the support of many of you on here .. I could always read your posts.. I'm allowed back

I'd just like to say how sad I am to read of the passing of several of my protagonists and not be able to pass on my condolences to their relatives

Whilst we disagreed on many points I will miss their feisty ripostes.

Wishing folks Happy New Year sounds a bit 'strange' after theses events and the Apostolides v Orams' legal decision - but although my political views are probably different from most of you, I believe that this case and a ruling re the legality of the IPC might bang some heads together in high places...

Even if it is too late for Mr Talat...I'm still optimistic for a settlement..

Welcome back Mark.

It'll be good to have your viewpoints again....for in essence, that is what we all have but some believe they are mightier than others and enjoy shutting those up who disagree with their ideals of the perfect world.

WHOOPPSS, was nearly naughty with my feelings.

Instead, Mark welcome back my friend. You know I try to keep out of the debate thing but I always enjoy reading how you post!

Hopefully one day people will realise that there are at least TWO sides to every story.

Welcome back Mark. And now all the gushy stuff is outatheway, down to the serious business that's happening.

What do you think of our chances against Bolton, providing of course that we beat Spurs, Eidur Gudjohnson 'n all.

Hi Mark, your return is a win for common sense. Glad to see you back, just stop making dopey remarks and things will be fine

Paul (& of course Jean)

I was going to put triumph but win sounded better

re msg 5 Tony / Minertor

Whilst I've been "en vacances" Leeds have knocked out Man U at old Trafford and drawn with Spurs at White Hart Lane.. and then lost important league games..

Yesterday we won an important league game, so I fear what will happen when we play Spurs at home ! Roll on Wednesday 3rd Feb !

Mark

Welcome back!

NOW BEHAVE!

I agree with you regarding 'banging heads together', we should learn the lessons from the Middle East, the Balkans, and even NI.

I think that 'banging heads together' will provide a reunification in Cyprus by about 2050,.. by which time I will be pushing up the daisies!

Do you know when final judgment is due from ECJ Gc's V Turkey regarding the IPC as local remedy.

This is certainly the next bifg thing and probably even more important than the Orams.

Just to be clear the IPC was set up under direction of ECHR and not the ECJ. These are two totally different bodies and parts of two different orgnaisations.

ECJ - part of EU, decides on interpretation of EU law amongst other things.

ECHR - part of Council of Europe. Hears cases against member states brought by indivduals and sometimes other states, where the claimants human rights have been infringed and local legal remedies have failed to proetect those rights.
