We have not confirmed our booking as where to stay this june, we are now looking at sempatti, la hotel, also riverside, they are all similar in price, any recomendations, would like to be able to walk to a few bars restaurants, and get taxi/ bus to kyrenia, also keep getting told flights will shoot up if we dont book now dont want to feel pressured into booking.

thanks

Sempati is good don't know about the others that you mention though although Riverside not on the bus route as such. Sempati has a couple of bars nearby and a not too long walk to the main road to catch the buses which are very frequent and inexpensive. Enjoy your holiday.

LA is in a good location for walking to bars and restaurants and is also right opposite the beach. Riverside is popular but accommodation could do with a spruce up. It really is a good idea to get your flights sorted as prices will definitely increase. The earlier you book, the cheaper it will be.

I met a couple who were booked in the Riverside just last week and they were looking to move out because the rooms were more than a little worn.

Hi purpleronnie,

I have stayed at Riverside on six occasions from 2002 to 2007. It is ecellent for kids with the slides, etc.

joanjelly is correct however about the place needing a total refurbishment. The standard accomodation, while good sized, is poorly built and maintained. The family who own just seem to want to get as much cash out of the place as possible without putting anything back by way of investment. They also insist on B&B that adds to the cost. Riverside will arrange flights for you at no additional charg

They do provide a twice daily bus service to Girne stopping at Escape and other locations along the way. SunSet also send a bus to the reception and this allows free entry to the club.

There are a number of good eating places within walking distance. If you don't get lost!

When we have visited without the kids we stayed in the Denizkizi Royal hotel. This facility can hold its head up with the best of hotels and was not too pricey at £46 B&B per room

Have a look at the Pia Bella, two swimming pools lovely gardens and very nice staff. In June the restaurant and bar are in the garden at the back of the Hotel, prices are excellent. Bus outside the door to the centre also to Ozankoy where there a some nice places to eat.

The Sempati is a great friendly hotel and the best of the three by far but you need a car. LA is close to some bars but nothing to shout about. The Bella View is a fabulous hotel but pricier. The Pia Bella is a good choice

Best advice (not on price but it is little different) get a tour operator package - it includes flights, transfers, hotel B&B and you are protected bt their ATOL bond.

To get a good idea look at the following link from our http://www.flightholiday.co.uk web site:-

http://www.flightholiday.co.uk/fh/Bargain_Holidays_North_Cyprus.php or look at the prices only at

Riverside examples based on a superior studio in GBP

May from 351 to 435 per week

July to end August from 370 to 467 per week

Tom are those prices per person? Could you give an example of something other than Riverside. I stayed there in 2004 and (in accommodation terms) it was bad then. The bathroom was indescribable, hideous stained carpet (carpet!!) on the floor in the bedroom and as for self catering, the very very bare minimum of cutlery and crockery that I wouldn't even touch. I recently met a friend there for a drink in the bar and it was dreadful.

If this is what first time tourists have to experience of North Cyprus then I seriously doubt they would ever return.

Try the Almond Village excellent food and bedrooms are clean and well furnished and the whole complex is excellent. You will need to book early as the hotel is very popular. TONY.

I agree Tony Almond is excellent family run hotel, best food in North Cyprus, and brilliant accommodation you really cannot go wrong.

J & J

Msg 14 - yes they are per person including flights.

Please look at http://www.flightholiday.co.uk/utilities/resources/Bargain_Holidays_North_Cyprus.pdf

All the hotels are listed there - these prices were supposed to expire at midninght tonight but I do not have new ones so will persuade the Tour operator to keep very close to them or better to them!

Sempati is good but a little out of the way. Would definatley recomend the Pia Bella. Staff are excellant and just a short walk to town centre.
