Before the thread was closed I saw a couple of people had a pop at me although I was unnamed! Sienna and Pupplover Nigel had his BP checked in a public place 'Jessics Bar' and did not give a toss who knew how high his BP was or the fact that he did not / would not take medication. Also anyone who knows him will tell you he made no secret of this fact.

I made reference to this so that other people just might think on and get their BP checked if they were worried so they could avoid being in a situation like Nigel is now!

Pipie, Thanks for that.

I was in NO way having a pop at Nigel and I really do wish him well, also if he needs help or equipment of any kind when he comes out of hospital we will supply it.

it was mentioned that I breached confidentiality when in fact Nigel was not and has not at any time been a patient of mine I checked his blood pressure as a mate!

What I hoped to achieve was to get people to think on their own health and I am sure that Nigel will back me on this. Don;t ignore any symptoms until it is too late. Prevention is better than cure.

Unfortunately , as you and i know Chris , some people will always think it is never going to happen to them , no matter how much advice on lifestyle or statistics you provide for them . I used to feel like banging my head against the wall when i did CHD clinics , i just wondered why some of them turned up for their appt , they never took the advice given , and went on to have health problems . You can only do your best and as professionals you keep on going in the hope that you will make a difference to some but not all the people you come across . Not the easiest job in the world , eh girl ?. You do a great job Chris , don't ever lose sight over a few criticism's . You have nothing to reproach yourself for , and it was done in a public place . It was not a private consultation .

Take care , Pat

I think those that were quite happy to have a dig at Nurseawful should publicly apologise to her!

at the end of the day the guy is ill what ever you think of him he does not need imo 'I told you so's in public' - I understand you do good work Nurseawful and brining awareness to others is a good thing but perhpas not by using others asan example whilst they are still recovering - thats my opinion

- I don't want to be dragged into personal attacks - I don't go on Nigels forum apart from I had a look whilst this one was down,

I just said on this occassion, we ALL could have just wished him well end of, without any lecturers or what seemed to be information that there was no need for.

Some person had said that Nige was upset by what had been said on this board about his illness , how would he know that ? There was also no need for whoever that person was to tell Nige what had been said . For pity sake the man had just had a Stroke , not a responsible act in my opinion .

Chris;

When you used my friends melanoma as an example for and to others, he was more than happy for you to do so.

Keep up the very good work.
