Does anyone know of any English speaking acitivies for a 7 year old and a 10 year old boy? I posted on a black olive thread but Im also interested to know if there is anything else on in Lefkosa, Bogaz or Kyrenia.

Something they can do as a one off, like cooking, arts and crafts, drama, playing games, a fun day

Pixie,

I believe that Guido in Alsancak is going to start cookery lessons so might be fun for the little ones.

That sounds wonderful, but these little boys only have time for a one off thing as they are living in Nicosia and attend a private school, so they are home after 5 pm in the evenings.

If anyone knows of something we can do just for this week or next please let me know

Have you tried Kings Bowling Centre near Ezic Premiere? The bowling's only 5tl per person and downstairs there's masses of arcade games that I'm sure your sons will love.

thanx but I am looking for a primarily English speaking activity as the older boy absolutely hates the subject at school and Im trying to show him that English is not just present simple, present continuous tense etc, writing out your spelling words 20 times and not knowing what the heck they mean, not being able to use them in A sentence and not recognizing them when reading a book or text.

Sorry Pixie, I think I misunderstood you - so you have native Turkish speaking children who you'd like to be able to practise their English? (whilst also having some fun of course!)

There is paintballing by the Golden Lions. They do say that they cater for children of all ages. There is also go-karting near by but I think you have to be 9 for that. Also just accross from the go-karting is bowling and ice-skating. All just outside Famagusta on the way to Bogaz.

Or look at Bafra. The big hotel there offers waterski-ing lessons, and diving lessons.

If they like exploring, take them to Salamas ruins. My friends 9 year old son and 11 year old daughter love it there. This weather is perfect for exploring that area. Have never managed to do the lot as its always too hot when we go but there is so much to explore that it would def take up quite a few hours.

Actually they are my students and close family friends. They attend Near east college. The younger one loves English and the older one doesnt have any motivation. He hates the subject and Im trying to widen his horizons so to speak. Will be posting about the difficulties of teaching english here on another thread in a few minutes...
