Hi,

We are thinking of going for a birthday bash at the new Tango To Buddha restaurant but have heard it gets booked very quickly, does anyone have their phone number please? I've searched on the internet but can't find it anywhere!

Would also appreciate any comments from people who have eaten there, on prices, food etc

Thanks

Kelly

Sorry, don't know the phone number. Ate there a week or two ago. Big barn of a place furnished to suit the eye rather than the bottom! Aperitif, TL10, bottle Trivento TL35, Simonsvlei TL30 but no stock!

Can't remember much of the food, it was that memorable! I think starters were around TL10 and mains about TL20 for chicken to about TL30 for steak.

Only one of the waiters spoke English and he was a bit familiar, I felt.

Reminded me of Patina with the emphasis on style over substance.

A friend told me it has a strongly Italian influenced menu.

I remember what I had to eat there now.

Let me say at the outset, the presentation was excellent.

My starter was a Japanese version of spring roll, IIRC. The pastry was thick and doughy and the filling was plain mince. All a bit bland, I thought.

For main, I had some version of chicken breast with some flavoured rice. No vegetables. The chicken was bashed flat and a bit dry.

My dining partner ordered a chicken drumstick dish, but also received a bashed chicken breast. We mentioned this to the waiter and received an apology - kitchen mistake apparently.

tried to book up for this saturday and was told that i would go on the waiting list "with all the other people", so it looks like our birthday bash will have to be held elsewhere! but will try another time when its less busy.

We went on Monday, beautiful decor. Thought the drinks were a bit pricey, 2 cocktails, 1 glass of house red & 1 tonic water: 44tl.

Saying that, we are booked for Friday night!!

The menu is probably the most adventurous I've seen in TRNC. Superb decor. Musik can make conversation a bit of a challenge though (efforts to get it turned down were a waste of time.) The drinks need a) Working on (Cocktails not very good = thin if you get my meaning) b) Price revue (expensive.) Having said that the food is, for North Cyprus, very good value for money.

went to Tango to Buddha last night, meal was very nice, i had the ravioli for starters, was a bit surprised as you only get 1 ravioli, and price is only a couple of TL cheaper than a main course, so starters are expensive, but main courses very reasonable, i had the chicken fajitas, very nicely cooked and presented. Drinks i think are not bad, especially for the cocktails, as they are more expensive in the harbour and in Girne, beer is 6TL, but if you want to drink imported spirits, then of course its going to be expensive, as in most restaurants.

Decor is beautiful, and entertainment was excellent, i love the way they slowly build up the music and turn down the lighting to transform it from restaurant to club. All in all, we had a great night out, and will definitely be going there again.

I was at Tango last night with a couple of my friends and family only to find out that my favourite person, Angie no longer works there, a SHAME - REALLY. Now the staff did try to accomodate us but it wasn't with any enthusiam or much less a smile. Now Angie really knew how to take care of me whenever i came in whether in a large group or intimate, she knew just how to greet you and make you feel really welcome. I'm not sure who will be taking over for her, but i would like to reccomend to the Management of tango to find someone asap as the service we received last night could easily make me rethink going to Tango in the future. If someone knows where Angie is now working please post so we know which restaurant to go to next...!!!!

Angie if you're reading....please come back to Tango, its not the same without you...

Samu xxx you have my number
