If I import my vehicle when do I have to pay the duty, is it straight away or at the end of year

brought mine in in October was told then it was at the customs discretion so no time scale as such just depends what you can negotiate

minimum 1 year,but make sure car has years tax as it is more expensive here.Oh,and do yourself a favour and be sure it is no older then 5 years,if it is,you must have had the logbook in you name for 5 years also,as for the rest,load of garbage.

I imported a car last year. Nightmare procedure wise and not cheap. It can be done with much time & patience (and opportunities for being ripped off in that good old Cyprus way). I'd have to query whether cheaper to simply buy one in NC.



Be careful on the timescales. If you have imported household goods, your passport will have been stamped to that effect. If so they treat you as a resident and you must pay the import duty immediately.

Under the current law,anyone(inc.TCs) that has spent less then 365 days in TRNC in the last 2 years is classed as VISITORS.

Above info alone is enough to make your point,and it cost me 21500 tl to learn.



Any of you guys need help regarding that mail me,it is visable in my profile.I learnt not to ask anything to anyone,I go there myself and enquire myself,third parties always talk load of s**t.
