I'm slightly sceptical in that she mentions that she can't take any telephone calls due to the fact ther her relatives are round her - however she managed to type an email.



Oh well there's me and my inquisitve mind. Can't wait for the cheque to come through!

Yes. I think in the last 2 years I have won the national debt of USA on various lottery schemes notified by email. As for the emails offering enlargement of a certain object and tablets to assist it, maybe several thousand emails. Changed my email address recently but they soon find you again somehow.

The telephone number looks like a satellite number and will cost you £5 per minute.. some of which they get.

On a more serious note, you would be surprised at how many people actually fall for these scam's..especially the elderly.

Having worked in a police station I was dealing with a lovely pensioner who was writing cheques out while I was dealing with the matter she had attended the station for.

I commented to her "paying the bills?"

She then showed me letters from Nigeria in which a woman was asking for money for an operation for her son.

I then showed her a file that I had collected over the years with various scam requests......I was so glad that she decided to write a cheque out in front of me as I'm sure she would have posted it.

I usually email back that I have sent their email to the Serious Crime Squad at Scotland Yard and that their emails are being monitored! They never contact me again lol

Whatever security or filtering system 'Mac' uses, it's good. In the 2 years I've had this laptop I have had absolutely no junk, or dodgy emails, it's great. But then I've also stopped using hotmail which must help.
