So how many years have you been here (trnc) holidaying or lived, and has the news of the orams case or the latest news on the talks ever made you think wow this is getting a little worring its never got to this stage before.

I have had a holiday home in the trnc for nearly two years now and to me honest i do not regret buying one little bit if anything im always itching to get back out.

I wonder which cyp44 member/s has been here the longest.

One year and two months and not worried by the Orams case. I think I might put in a fictitious claim for Larnaca airport.

Should have qualified that last message. Lived here full time since March 2002. Started visiting in 1994 or 5?

I have been visiting TRNC nearly every year since about 1982. I still love the place. I have introduced lots of people to the Island, some love it and keep visiting, others have not been back. I do not think re-unification will ever happen, as there are too many open wounds. Perhaps in the future when the younger generation forget the past, things might change. It will not stop me coming to TRNC but over commercialization would.

First came here on Boxing Day 1963 at Queen Elizabeth's expence and stayed until the UN came in.

Came back in 1990 and holidayed every year ( sometimes twice a year ) until my wife and I bought our house

Could not imagine ever going back to UK.

I first came to live on the island for 4 years in 1970, then returned permanently in 1983. Have lived here longer than anywhere else, it is our home, and would not dream of moving anywhere else. For the first 30 years of marriage we were constantly on the move, 35 times in all. Enough is enough!

Tour of duty in '69, moved out permanently in 2007. No, no fear re the Orams case as we made the full commitment and sold up in the UK so this is our home not a holiday investment, hence my intolerance of the "snipers". Can understand the fears people have though with one foot in each camp. No regrets, only that it took me so long to find really good live musicians lol

Hey guys. I think the Powers that Be should see these postings which are an obvious contradiction to all the scaremongering of Panic among Ex Pats.

May I quote you all? I am going to write a piece for londra Gazette and I think London should see how happy many ex pats are and fully in support of the TRNC?

So, my question is - does anyone mind being quoted, or wish to be anonymous?

As for me, just by way of interest. First visited 1989; bought holiday apartment in 2002, came permanently in 2003, and although I wonder sometimes what the heck I am doing, don'/t have any plans to leave (in spite of THAT ITV programme last year 'No Place like Home' , I have to admit thisIS home for now.

I first came here in 1956 with my father who was based here at that time. Came back 2004, would i do it again. I would if we had the money we gave to the rouge builder now in a uk remand centre, and never started a buisness. Where do you go from here. certainly no where in the eurozone.

17 years full time, but it looks as if it is coming to an end now due to medical problems. We will wait and see what doctors say here in UK!!!!!.

So sorry to hear that Cyprus1. Reminds me of the leading question I asked my husband 'Where do you want to die?' If he wants to be cremated, then we would have to return to U.K, but if he is happy to be buried in 'some part of a foreign field' , then it could be here. I guess it depends on what treatment and help one needs and if one can afford it. Would hate to think that anyone had to leave for negative reasons. Seems unfair. So, I DO wish you well Cyprus1. Hope that whatever advice you get is something with which you can liv e.
