Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm just preparing for my bill!! There's 6 figures on my meter, 3 black and the last three in red. Do I just read the black?

Thanks.

I presume you are renting and there is a large tank in the garden supplying gas for your central heating? And you have to pay for the gas you use? Why don't you just copy down all 6 numbers? Or maybe it is the water meter?

I have taken down all 6 numbers but I want to know how much I've used - is it tens, hundreds or thousands, so I have an idea before I'm hit with the bill!!

Can someone tell me if I need to take account of just the first three numbers to work out the units I've used?

Pippie,

If its the same as ours - we rent and have central heating etc via bulk gas tank (for the site) Our meter has the same layout as yours The black figs are for whole units used** and the red ones show remaining part of unit (just like an electric meter) Be aware our gas is supplied to the site in Litres but the individual metres show how many **" Cubic meters " of gas have been used, so a conversion has to be made from Litres of gas to Cubic meters before our bill is presented - Not straight forward - Just for info, we are charged at 6 tl per cubic meter of gas.

Our last bill was for a reading of 30 Cu Mtrs so came to 180 TL Hope this may be of some help.

Thanks Straybearx, that's most helpful. Ours sounds just like yours. I rang Jetgaz last week and they said 1.25 per unit - thought it was looking a bit cheap!
