Hi all,

We are planning to drive to the Beyarmadu/ pergamos border next week and cross by foot then hire a car in the south.Will there be anywhere close by to enable us to do this,

Sorry Paul, at the time of posting I couldn't think of an alternative solution to your question so I kept it short and sweet.

Both Pyla and Famagusta crossings are pretty remote, and there isn't much around, only a few shops several hundred metres away. Each time I have passed through I haven't noticed any car hire outlets anywhere near the border crossings, although there is ample car park space to leave a hire car, but that leaves the problem of having a southern car to meet you at the crossing. I'm afraid I don't know any numbers of taxi firms in the south.

Sorry I can't help on this matter, and I won't take your remarks personal!
