| A number of people have asked me to post David's obituary on this board, so here is what I said at the funeral: David Pavey, ex navy sailor, popular bridge player, anti-gardener, and child hater (he always claimed) died suddenly on January 27th . He was 72. He and I came to live in TRNC in 2005, and were fortunate to make many friends here. He was always ready to help anyone, despite always pretending that he “couldn’t be asked to help those who wouldn’t help themselves”. In fact,he went out of his way to do things for anyone, from explaining residency requirements, patiently describing to new and old questioners, anything from the way to Guzelyurt, how to find Tin Pan Alley, or Lefkosa Covered Market, and offering his PERSONAL opinion – certainty – about the best local doctor or coffee shop (generally deciding he would take the helpless newbies himself, as they were bound to get lost if set loose on their own!) |

| Thank you , it was kind of you to think of other people even though you were going through your own personal grief . Sounds like he really made a difference in peoples lives in helping them in any way he could . I didn't know David but i did exchange a few e-mails with him . Kindest regards , Patricia |
