I have just stumbled across a video on You Tube, Does anyone remember this lady from Scotland, who wowed the judges and audience and went on to get world wide interest.

She sang I dreamed a dream from Les Miserables on the Britains Got Talent show.

James

Are you a fan of Susan? If so I have her album if you would like to borrow it.

If you haven't heard it, it's brilliant.

My favourite is her singing "Wild horses".

James. The lady sold over 30 million copies of ' I dreamed a dream ' and has appeared on the top tv shows in

America.

She came second in the Britian's Got Talent show but is, as someone on here said, a millioneress.

Sienna, Thanks for your comments but I am not one for keeping up with the gossip!!! and I dont follow the UK press because like you say most of it is rubbish, I just thought I would open a topic for anyone who was interested. I gather you are not interested in anything other than pulling people to pieces and suggesting they live in cupboards, I travel widely and thats why I was not upto speed with this, I am sure my life is more interesting than yours obviously is not.

Puppylover & JamesTalbot. Simon Cowell promised Susan to provide her with the best musical arrangements and sound engineering skills for her debut album 'I Dreamed a Dream'. And he was true to his word. A brilliant album which showcases her vocal abilities beautifully. 'Wild Horses' is also possibly our favourite but 'You'll See' is so poignant. Have you read her hand-written comments inside the cover ? Such a sensitive person.....

Swannee7, I agree such brilliant vocals, I was spell bound when I watched her audition, the audience was jeering and the judges also were cynical, but once she opened her mouth to sing, she blew eveyone away, good luck to her, she looked after her mother for many yrs, so I wish her the best in her life.

Not only does the album exceed expectations, I have heard interview on Radio 2 which was very good and last week she was on Oprah. She just comes across as a "real" person.

Whilst I agree that Susan Boyle has a lovely voice, am I the only person who thinks there is something slightly 'strange' about her?

millzer and Paul - I was, as you've probably guessed, being diplomatic when I said 'slightly strange'

Jean, she is a bit 'strange' - and I don't mean that in a nasty way.

I think she came from a relatively poor backround having looked after her elderly Mother right up until she passed away. She's somewhat insular having never really mixed with many people. Personally I feel sorry for her in a way. I just hope she has the right people looking after her and her finances.

She has slight learning disabilities and was bullied at school because of it. Good luck to the lady, she is loved by a lot of people because she is so down to earth. When she is at home she prefers to use public transport as opposed to taxis. Her only indulgence since her rise to fame was to buy her council house.

It appears that Scotland may have done again this year in the Britains Got Talent heats. An 81 year old lady performed in front of the judges and "wowed" them.

Bill - I do agree with what you say about Susan Boyle, and, like you, hope she has the right people looking after her and her finances. I appreciate the fact that she has led a very sheltered life and I do think being thrust into the limelight has, at times, overwhelmed her.

I certainly had a tear in my eye when she sang.A wonderful sort of "rags to riches" story,

Paul.

My wee granddaughter asked me if I liked her and I thought that's what I'm gonna get for Christmas

and yes, I was right, a Susan Boyle c.d. I like her singing and all the songs were lovely, but I wish she

had included my favourite, which she sang the second time on the contest i.e. "Midnight" from Cats.

My son & his friend also made a c.d of Wild Horses - lovely song too.

She may have led a sheltered life by some standards, but she has been singing in clubs in Scotland for some time, I believe. (But maybe that doesn't count for some of you)
