Has anyone pulled the plug on a property purchase ?

Have you got your money back or just written it off ?

If you were to call time on what I now realise was a big mistake what happens ?

Keep your cash in your pocket, until this Government, ammend The Specific Performance Law of 1885, which will allow you to sue for your DEEDS not just compensation ( that cowboy builders will try to evade)



What a shame.....KEEP YOUR CASH IN YOUR POCKET! IT MAKES SENSE!

Perhaps I have no stomach for this long running battle for what is really me paying money to get something in return?

I find it very disapointing we are dealing with builders and more importantly Law Firms that dont give a toss.

Speaking to 2 friends of mine recently one bought property in Portugal and one in Cape Verdi .........both trouble free and now enjoying holidays in thier property.

Wyn is going to hate me for saying this, but I totally understand where you are coming from on this subject, and if I had not have ploughed so much money into this villa, plus pulled my pension early etc. etc.. I would pull out as well.

If I knew then what I know now....

I think the only thing that keeps me going is that there is ALWAYS someone on this forum that has been through it and come out the other end, maybe with nerves shattered, but they have done it, and they share the information and help as much as possible, I think I definitely would have said sod it without everybodies input and guidance.

MY BUILDER e mailed me yesterday (after some 6 months) and said because I had posted on THIS BOARD about him, he was going to take me to court. WELL HERES A MESSAGE FOR HIM. BRING IT ON!! FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT......I REPEAT.....I WANT WHAT IT STATES ON MY CONTRACT, AND I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET IT!



YET AGAIN I OFFERRED TO COME TO CYPRUS WITHOUT ANY PRECONDITIONS TO TRY TO RESOLVE OUR DIFFICULTIES. ..... WHY WILL HE NOT ACCEPT?.......THINK ABOUT IT.



I HAVE NEVER NAMED HIM ON THIS BOARD FOR FEAR OF DAMAGING HIS BUSINESS, BUT FOR WHAT IT IS WORTH, I WISH I HAD NEVER SEEN THE DAMNED MAN!



THROUGH THIS BOARD, I HAVE DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE OR HIS MODUS OPERANDI

WITH OTHER CLIENTS, SO I KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. NOW THEN AT THE RISK OF REPEATING MYSELF.............................................



I WANT WHAT IT STATES ON MY CONTRACT, TO THE WORD,



My contract states(in respect of the final payment) "no more monies shall be paid, until the villa and swimming pool are finished in good order"..... my contract states a penalty of

£500 per month after the 18 month build period. HE CLAIMS THE POOL IS NOT INCLUDED

AND HE WON"T PAY THE PENALTIES BECAUSE I WANT THE POOL!.(cute eh)



I HAVE OFFERRED A NEW CONTRACT THAT REFLECTS THE ACTUALITY OF THE SITUATION,WE NOW FIND OURSELVES IN, AT THE PRICE THAT THE VILLA IS SHOWN ON HIS WEBSITE..........THAT IS HOW GENTLEMEN BEHAVE!!



I INVITE HIM TO DISPUTE THESE FACTS PUBLICALLY ON THIS BOARD.



I OFFER TO COME TO NC (at my cost) TO SIT DOWN AND TRY TO RESOLVE THIS WITHOUT PRECONDITION! (again and again)



I WISH TO ADVISE THIS MAN, THAT I AM RAPIDLY LOOSING MY TEMPER WITH HIS

CHILDISH ANTICS............WATCH THIS BOARD!......I will publish facts!



Now if anyone reading this board, wants to part with his/hers hard earned readies that is up

to them. I don't want to damage anyones business............................but.................

in retrospect, I think it would be most unwise, for people to buy, until this Government ammends THE SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE LAW OF 1885 from 2 months to 6 years, to allow you to sue for THE DEEDS not compensation. (which can be avoided)



I know I know THERE ARE GOOD ONES.......I did my homework before I bought....I posted good comments about this guy (foolishly, its The British Way) etc etc etc.

THE ANTICS START INVARIABLY ONCE THEY HAVE 90% of YOUR cash in HIS bank.

( no work done on our villa, and no communication for 6 months after I gave him the last £32,000) Worry we know what worry is £104,000 and not even an E mail.



I APPOLOGISE to everyone who reads this board, if I bored you. I am not a winger!!



I know others have worse stories to tell.



IF MY BUILDER COMES GOOD, I WILL BE THE FIRST TO POST ABOUT IT.



Now wheres that EFES? Going to be some raised voices in our hut Chris!!

This bloody villa will probably cost me my marriage (40 years)

One big tip for prospective buyers, Always buy properties that are built and not off plan. It is just too riskey otherwise unless you know a very very good builder. They do exist i am sure

Hang in there mate dont give up all will come good in the end it may take time but you just have to keep on it you may have to bend a little were you would never in the UK but at the end of the day you want what you paid for just dont give up whatever you do there is always someone in a worse position than you.

The builder is a total waste of time, been in contact numerous times and he will not even respond.

My advocate cant even get any contact with him.

I think im treated poorly but if I were you wyn I would be doing time now as I could not put up with what your going through.

I agree with you rcroton any new buyers reading this should only consider finished properties and stay well clear of off plan.

But one thing is for sure my wallet stays firmly in pocket until the property is finished and if Im lucky enough to get a refund im out of here.
