Gloria Jeans coffee shop now has a rival

Personally I think these designer coffee shops are a rip off but obviously with a sector of the community they are popular.

Amongst a fanfare of joy the opening of a Gloria Jeans was heralded a few weeks ago, and to be fair when i pass in the evening it seems fairly busy although my information is that people go there to be seen rather than drink the coffee (which i believe is served in plastic cups) at an exobidant price.

Now immediately next door opens a brand new all singing all dancing guess?-A new coffee shop

When oh when will these people learn

Not only in TRNC but Cypriots everywhere. When I was at Shepherds Bush in London, we had no fish and chips shop on the main road. Then one day a Cypriot opened such a shop there and within six months we had three of them, all Cypriots!!!

Have you noticed how all the supermarkets sell the same basics at the same price?

Their idea of being competitive is to make sure that they are not more expensive than anyone else. All the special offers are common to all the supermarkets and loss-leaders are not an option.

It was really easy shopping for stuff in istanbul. If you needed a lamp, all the light shops were situated in the same area; if you needed new curtains, you went to the 'curtain shop area' etc. This meant you had a huge choice and could shop around for what you wanted. And you only had to park the car ONCE!!
