Slight advantage being 'down under' however, it's NZ National day today but would like to remind all members that in lieu of any celebrations today in Cyprus, on 25th April (ANZAC DAY) a hangi will be put down at Guido's & Liz's restaurant, given that they will be still speaking to me! Further details to follow, Ka Mate!

Sheep tackling ban in New Zealand

Now the sheep in New Zealand have one less thing to worry about

Sheep tackling, a popular half-time entertainment in parts of New Zealand, is to be banned following criticism from an animal welfare group.

About 500 children chased five sheep wearing rugby shirts during the break at the NPC Third Division final between Wairarapa-Bush and Horowhenua-Kapiti.

Hey - and in case you didn't know: the only difference between having a 'naughty' with a sheila and a sheep, is that with the sheep you have to hop off and run round the front to kiss it!

Happy Waitangi Day! I marked it here in USA with flying a large NZ flag. Speaking of flags, the debate about NZ changing it's flag has resurfaced. The New Zealand Herald has been writing about it on their online site the past few days.

Hippo: will the update of the 'Union Jack' feature black, white, brown and yellow stripes - cos if it doesn't, there could be protests and riots?
